Senators hear the findings of their colleagues on two other committees that reviewed certain measures of the budget implementation bill. Seven Senate committees conducted pre-study hearings on Bill C-43. Senator Dennis Dawson, chair of the Committee on Transport and Communications, discusses the measures related to the development and expansion of aerodromes, the operation of international bridges, amendments to the Radiocommunication Act and to the Telecommunications Act, and the proposal to eliminate paper billing fees for telecommunications customers. Senators Bob Runciman and George Baker, respectively the chair and deputy chair of the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, present their report on the measure that will allow charities to use computers and other modern technologies to run their lotteries.
