Senators continue their examination of Bill C-8, an act to amend the Copyright Act and the Trade-marks Act. Kevin Spreekmeester (chief marketing officer) of Canada Goose, Carla Ventin (vice president, federal government affairs) from Food & Consumer Products of Canada, Scott Smith (director, intellectual property and innovation policy, Canadian Chamber of Commerce) of the Canadian Intellectual Property Council, and criminologist Philippe Bensimon testify. David Lipkus (chair, Canada subcommittee of the anti-counterfeiting committee) from the International Trademark Association, Ryan Evans (vice-chair, anti-counterfeiting committee) of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and Georgina Danzig (chair, counterfeiting and trade offenses committee, intellectual property section) from the Canadian Bar Association provide additional testimony. (December 3, 2014) UPDATE: Bill C-8 received royal assent on December 9.
