Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz outlines the Agricultural Growth Act. Bill C-18 proposes to modernize and streamline nine federal agricultural statutes, some of which have not been updated in over 60 years. Seven of the statutes fall under the oversight of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and two under Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
Also testifying are senior officials Veronica McGuire and Nicolas McCandie Glustien, who are both with the CFIA, Rosser Lloyd from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and Louise Sénéchal from Justice Canada. (December 11, 2014)
