The committee resumes its review of Bill S-201.The proposed legislation aims to enable Canadians to have genetic testing done without fear they will be vulnerable to genetic discrimination by insurance companies and others. Peter Engelmann (Sack Goldblatt Mitchell, LLP) of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers, Pierre Thibault from the University of Ottawa and Marcella Daye (senior policy advisor), Fiona Keith (acting director and senior counsel) and David Langtry (acting chief commissioner) from the Canadian Human Rights Commission testify.
