Senators continue their study on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada. Terry Ennis (president, board of directors executive), Pamela Parker (member, board of directors executive and government relations committee) and Ruth Salmon (executive director) from the Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance and Eric Gilbert (director general, aquaculture management, ecosystems and fisheries management), Jay Parsons (director, aquaculture science, ecosystems and fisheries management) and Kevin Stringer (senior assistant deputy minister, ecosystems and fisheries management) of Fisheries and Oceans Canada discuss the growing demand for healthy protein, the salmon farming industry and the importance of establishing a federal aquaculture act.
