Senators continue their study of Bill S-210, An Act to amend the Criminal Code. The proposed legislation aims to lower the criminal interest rate. Randy Hatfield (executive director) of the Saint John Human Development Council and Kelley McKeating (FSA, FCIA) from the Canadian Institute of Actuaries discuss their support for the bill and explain some of the intricacies in how interest rates are, and will be calculated should the proposed legislation pass.
