The committee begins its pre-study of the budget implementation bill (C-59). The following witnesses discuss some of the elements contained in the bill and how those elements will benefit Canadian veterans and their families should the proposed legislation pass: Michel Doiron (Assistant Deputy Minister, Service Delivery) and Bernard Butler (Associate Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy, Communications and Commemoration) from Veterans Affairs Canada; Ray McInnis (Director, Service Bureau) of the Royal Canadian Legion; along with Guy Parent (Ombudsman) and Sharon Squire (Deputy Ombudsman and Executive Director of Operations) from the office of the Veterans Ombudsman.
