Senior officials from seven government departments testify as the committee continues with its pre-study of the budget implementation act (C-59). Senators hear from Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Finance Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Natural Resources Canada, Industry Canada, and Public Safety Canada.

Marc-Yves Bertin, Steven Kuhn, Bayla Kolk, Kim Gowing, Terence Hubbard, Monika Bertrand, Mark Potter, Caroline Fobes, and Carl Trottier discuss provisions such as amendments to the National Energy Board Act, ending the long-gun registry and changes to sick leave and disability benefits for public service employees. (May 28, 2015) UPDATE: Bill C-59 received royal assent on June 23.
