Senior Public Safety Canada officials John Davies (director general of national security policy), Ritu Banerjee (director of operational policy and review) and Sophie Beecher (counsel), as well as Lu Fernandes (director general, passport program integrity) from Citizenship and Immigration Canada, provide details on the changes which would allow authorities to cancel, revoke or refuse passports for national security or terrorism purposes.
Designated special advocates Anil Kapoor and Gordon Cameron and Western University professor Salim Mansur testify during the second part of the meeting. ( May 28, 2015) UPDATE: Bill C-59 received royal assent on June 23.
