Senators continue their study on Bill C-46, the Pipeline Safety Act. Robert Blakely (Canadian operating officer) from the Canada's Building Trades Unions, Brenda Kenny (president and CEO) and Jim Donihee (chief operating officer) of the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association, Martin Olszynski (assistant professor) from the University of Calgary and Martin Caron (second vice-president, corporate), Isabelle Bouffard (economic and trade coordinator, agriculture policy and research branch) and Stéphane Forest (counsel, legal affairs branch) of the “Union des producteurs agricoles” discuss the roles of their respective organizations, the benefits of pipelines and provide suggestions on how to strengthen the proposed legislation. (May 28, 2015) UPDATE: Bill C-46 received royal assent on June 18.
