Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Minister John McCallum testifies as part of the committee`s study on the integration of newly-arrived Syrian refugees in Canada and the challenges they are facing. The government fulfilled its mandate to bring 25,000 Syrian refugees by the end of February. Canada is now working on its second commitment of bringing 25,000 government-assisted Syrian refugees by the end of 2016. Senior department officials Corinne Prince-St-Amand, Dawn Edlund and David Manicom also testify. Senators then hear from Michael Casasola, a resettlement officer with the United Nations High Commission to Refugees. (May 18, 2016)
