Innovation, Science and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains and Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre discuss Bill C-11. The legislation would amend the Copyright Act to facilitate access to published works for persons who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print disabled. The bill was unanimously passed by the House of Commons. Senators also hear from senior department officials Paul Halucha and Robert Dupelle; Canadian National Institute for the Blind representative Diane Bergeron; and Victoria Owen from the Canadian Library Association. The committee conducts its clause-by-clause consideration of the bill after hearing from the witnesses. UPDATE: Bill C-14 received royal assent on June 22. (June 15, 2016)
