In Committee from the Senate of Canada
Transport and Communications - June 21, 2016
The committee continues its review of Bill C-10. The legislation would modify the existing requirements governing where Air Canada must carry out its aircraft maintenance activities, as well as the type and volume of those activities. Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec representatives Serge Cadieux (general secretary) and David Chartrand (vice president) discuss their opposition to the bill. Senators then hear from Air Canada executives Kevin C. Howlett (senior vice president, government affairs and regional markets), David Rheault (director, government affairs and community relations) and Fitti Lourenco (director, government affairs, federal government and Ontario). The committee conducts it clause-by-clause consideration of the bill at the end of the meeting. (June 21, 2016) UPDATE: Bill C-10 received royal assent on June 22.
