Retired Major-General Lewis Mackenzie discusses Canada's role in peace support operations. The former major-general served nine tours of peacekeeping duty and led the United Nations Protection Force in former Yugoslavia. Senators hear from the following retired Canadian Forces members during the second part of the meeting: Major-General Richard Blanchette (chairman of the Royal Canadian Legion's defence and security committee), Lieutenant-General Louis Cuppens (special advisor with the Canadian Peacekeeping Veterans Association) and Major Wayne Mac Culloch (national president of the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping).
