Senate panel discussion on dementia - January 30, 2017
Senators Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, chair of the Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology, deputy chair Art Eggleton and Steering Committee member Carolyn Stewart Olsen host a panel discussion and Q&A session on the future of dementia treatment in Canada. The panel discussion was timed to coincide with the end of Alzheimer Awareness Month. The panellists were Dr. Frank Molnar (vice-president of the Canadian Geriatrics Society); Linda Garcia (professor at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Health Sciences); Debbie Benczkowski (chief operating officer, Alzheimer Society of Canada); Katherine Duncan (informal caregiver); Dr. Antoine M. Hakim (senior neurologist at the Ottawa Hospital); and Michael Duncan (a retired Navy commander living with dementia). (January 30, 2017
