Three Indigenous elders take part in in the committee's study of a new relationship between Canada and First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Verna Porter-Brunelle shares some thoughts on reconciliation from the perspective of the Métis Nation of Ontario. Elder Porter-Brunelle is a senator on the Provisional Council of the Métis Nation of Ontario. Claudette Commanda discusses languages, land and treaties from her perspective as an Algonquin Anishinaabe, and also from her work as executive director of the First Nations Confederacy of Cultural Education Centres. Fred Kelly then offers his views as a citizen of the Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty 3.
