Cannabis Bill: Concerns from Nunavut
Aboriginal Peoples - March 26, 2018 - Part 1: Inuit elders and Indigenous spokespersons express their concerns about the potential impact of legal cannabis on the Inuit community in Nunavut. Participating in the study on Bill C-45, the Cannabis Act, as it relates to the Indigenous peoples in Canada are Isaac Shooyook, Louis Uttak, George Qulaut, Aluki Kotierk (Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated), Geela Arnauyumayuq, Chief Ross Perley, Chief April Adams-Phillips (Mohawk Council of Akwesasne). IndigiCo’s Sara Loft, Howard Marry, and Mike Fontaine also appear before the committee.
