Cannabis Bill: Lawyers and Police Associations Weigh In

Associations representing Canada’s criminal defence lawyers and police officers raise their concerns over Bill C-45, the government’s legislation to legalize cannabis.

Appearing before the committee are the Criminal Lawyers’ Association’s Michael Spratt and Ayesha Kumararatne; the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers’ Eric Neubauer; McGill University’s Mark Walters; the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police’s Chief Mario Harel and Deputy Chief Mike Serr; as well as the Canadian Police Association’s Tom Stamatakis.
