Cannabis Bill: Heath Minister Says Listening to First Nations is a Priority

Aboriginal Peoples – April 17, 2018:

Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor addresses concerns about the possible consequences of the legalization of cannabis on Indigenous peoples and communities in Canada. Appearing alongside the minister is Bill Blair, parliamentary secretary to the minister of health and the minister of justice.

Also fielding questions on Bill C-45, the Cannabis Act, as it relates to the Indigenous peoples in Canada are Health Canada’s Eric Costen, director general, Cannabis Legalization and Regulation Secretariat, and the Department of Justice Canada’s Stefan Matiation, director and general counsel.
