Non-Profits Offer Recommendations to Improve Charitable Sector
Charitable Sector (Special) - September 18, 2018 - Part 2: Charitable foundations take part in the committee's ongoing study on the impact of federal and provincial laws governing charities and non-profits on Canada’s charitable sector. Witnesses offer recommendations on improving the regulatory and legislative environemtn for Canadian charities, as well as removing barriers such as access to funding and public sector procurement. Senators first hear from Northern Council for Global Cooperation's Tracey Wallace; Canadian Women's Foundation's Paulette Senior; Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants' Debbie Douglas; and Rural Ontario Institute's Norman Ragetlie. The second panel is made up of Trico Foundation's Wayne Chiu; Employment and Social Development Canada's Catherine Scott; KPMG's Tania Carnegie; and RBC Wealth Management's Susan McIsaac.
