In Committee from the Senate of Canada - Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources - February 24, 2015

The committee begins its study of Bill C-40 with testimony from Environment Minister Leona Aglukkaq. The bill will create Canada’s first national urban park, the Rouge National Urban Park in the Greater Toronto Area. The proposed park would be 16 times larger than Central Park in New York City, making it one of the largest urban parks in the world.
Alan Latourelle, chief executive officer of Parks Canada, and senior agency officials Andrew Campbell Pam Veinotte also respond to senators’ questions about the bill.
