Members convene to discuss the latest developments concerning the H1N1 virus, as well as the measures put in place to combat the virus in the future. Appearing before the committee for the first part of the meeting is Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health. The committee also hears from Dr. David Butler-Jones (Chief Public Health Officer of Canada) and Shelagh Jane Woods (from the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, Health Canada). The witnesses for the second part of the meeting are John Maxted (associate executive director, health and public policy, from the College of Family Physicians of Canada), Jan Kasperski (CEO of the Ontario College of Family Physicians), Berry Vrbanovic (second vice-president of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities), Alain Normand (manager of emergency measures and corporate security for the City of Brampton), and Dr. Perry Kendall (co-chair of the Special Advisory Committee on H1N1).
