In Committee from the House of Commons - Standing Committee on the Status of Women – May 5, 2010

The committee discussed maternal and child health with Sharon Camp (president of the Guttmacher Institute); Robert Fox (executive director of Oxfam Canada); Maureen McTeer (Canadian representative of the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood); and Katherine McDonald (executive director of Action Canada for Population and Development).

The Conservative government has been heavily criticized for its decision not to fund abortion as part of its G8 initiative to improve maternal and child health for developing countries.
