Treasury Board President Tony Clement made his highly anticipated appearance at the committee to answer questions about his role in G8 legacy fund spending. Opposition parties have attempted to get answers regarding $50 million that was spent on infrastructure projects in Clement's Ontario riding when he was industry minister.

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, who was the Infrastructure minister at the time of the G8 summit, was also at the committee to defend the funding process, along with senior federal bureaucrats.
