In Committee from the House of Commons - Government Operations and Estimates - February 1, 2012

Government Operations and Estimates

The committee began its study of the new federal agency Shared Services Canada with testimony from the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC). Shared Services Canada aims to streamline the federal government's IT services and reduce costs.

PIPSC president Gary Corbett told MPs that although there is support for the project, his organization still had some concerns. Chief Information Officer Michel Rodrigue, and Compensation and Policy Officer Ryan Campbell also testified. PIPSC members make up the largest component of the government's IT staff.
