The committee continued its study of the new federal agency Shared Services Canada, which aims to streamline the federal government's IT services and reduce costs.

David Nicholl, corporate chief information and IT officer with the Ontario Ministry of Government Services, shared the province's experience with IT shared services. Karna Gupta, CEO of the Information Technology Association of Canada, also outlined the benefits of shared services and made recommendations to ensure the agency’s effectiveness.
