MPs continued their study on the security of Canada's immigration system.
Catherine Dauvergne, a professor of law at the University of British Columbia, spoke about issues such as refugee exclusion and immigration detention in Canada. Immigration lawyer John Petryshyn discussed the problems that his clients who set up their own businesses may face with foreign workers. Immigration consultant Rajesh Randev commented on the significant challenges faced by applicants of temporary resident visas and outlined some solutions for these problems. Immigration consultant and former Foreign Service officer Joe Greenholtz raised the issue of cursory screening processes for temporary resident visas and how it discredits Canada's immigration system. All of the witnesses were appearing as individuals.
