Political analysts and European politicians, both former and current, briefed the committee on the significant political and social issues affecting Ukraine. Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, Borys Tarasyuk, Marcin Swiecicki, James Sherr, and Andrei Piontkovsky discussed Canada's support, as well as Ukraine's possible integration into the European Union. The next Ukrainian parliamentary election is scheduled to take place October 28, 2012.
