The committee began its investigation into threats made against Public Safety Minister Vic Toews by the online hacker group Anonymous. Threatening videos that targeted Toews over the proposed online surveillance bill were posted on YouTube.

House of Commons clerk Audrey O'Brien, chief information officer Louis Bard and Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers provided an overview of the measures taken to monitor and respond to security threats against parliamentarians.
