Transport, Infrastructure and Communities (April 3, 2012)

Representatives from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in Canada provided their views on the closure of aircraft maintenance company Aveos Fleet Performance Inc. The union represents the 2,600 workers who lost their jobs after Aveos decided to close its Canadian operations.

Chuck Atkinson, Jean Poirier, Gilles Brosseau, Louis Erlichman, Tony Didoshak, and Christopher Hiscock discussed the importance of the aviation maintenance sector in the country, and also expressed their frustration with the government's lack of action on the issue.
