Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney appeared before the committee to discuss the bank’s latest monetary policy report.
Carney spoke about Canada’s strong economic outlook and the potential for growth in Europe and the United States. He also discussed domestic risks for the Canadian economy, including household spending and debt. Senior deputy governor Tiff Macklem responded to questions on the changing value of the dollar and its effect on Canadian industries.
