Kristin Kalla from the International Criminal Court appeared before the committee to discuss the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war against women in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Kalla spoke about the scale of the problem in the DRC and elaborated on the court’s Trust Fund for Victims. This program offers physical, psychological, and material support for victims of sexual violence. She responded to questions from MPs about the reintegration of female child soldiers into communities and the state of international criminal law.
