Former Rights and Democracy chair Aurel Braun discussed the decision to close the troubled agency, a measure that is contained in the government's budget bill. Rob Rainer from the organization Canada Without Poverty, James L. Turk with the Canadian Association of University Teachers, former Canadian Medical Association president Jeffrey Turnbull, and law professor Michael Jackson also outlined some of their concerns with other provisions of Bill C-38.

UPDATE: Bill C-38 received royal assent on June 29.
