MPs continued with their study of the budget implementation bill. The main focus of this session was on the proposal to raise the age of eligibility for Old Age Security benefits.

Professor Michael Wolfson (as an individual), Vangelis Nikias from the Council of Canadians with Disabilities, Frank Zinatelli with the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Inc., Keith P. Ambachtsheer from the Rotman International Centre for Pension Management, and professor Arthur Sweetman (as an individual) discussed the impact of the OAS changes and other measures.

UPDATE: Bill C-38 received royal assent on June 29.
