Environment Commissioner of the Scott Vaughan was among the witnesses who commented on the proposed changes to the environmental review process and to the Fisheries Act that are contained in the government's budget bill.

Terry Quinney from the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, William Amos from Ecojustice Canada, Ron Bonnett with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture, Kevin Obermeyer from the Pacific Pilotage Authority, and Clarence T. Jules with the First Nations Tax Commission also testified.

UPDATE: Bill C-38 received royal assent on June 29.
