Wakar Uddin, chair of the Burmese Rohingya Association of North America (BRANA), appeared before the committee to discuss the current human rights situation in Burma.

Uddin spoke about his group’s work and elaborated on the main issues facing the Rohingya population in the western regions of the country. He responded to questions on topics including the impact of international sanctions, recent political reforms, and the country’s outlook for the future.
