Human Resources, Skills Development, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (October 18, 2012)

Human Resources Minister Diane Finley and Labour Minister Lisa Raitt brief the committee on Bill C-44, which would allow for work leave when a child is critically ill, dies, or disappears as the "probable result of a crime." Employment Insurance benefits would also be extended to those caring for a critically ill child.

UPDATE: Bill C-44 received royal assent on December 14.
