Foreign Affairs and International Development Senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the Department of National Defence and the Canadian International Development Agency brief committee members on the situation in Mali. Canada is providing air transport for French troops and equipment to the West African country until February 15. France is leading international efforts to drive out Islamic rebel groups who have taken over the northern of the country. The Canadian government is also providing $13 million in humanitarian aid.
