In Committee from the House of Commons
Status of Women - February 26, 2013
Status of Women Ian McPhail, interim chair of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Public Complaints Commission, and RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson discuss the commission's recent report into workplace harassment in the national police force. Commissioner Paulson also comments on the RCMP's gender balance action plan. The commission launched its study in November 2011 after several female RCMP officers came forward with allegations of systemic sexual harassment. The investigation looked into the handling of all workplace harassment complaints. It found that bullying was the overwhelming problem in the RCMP. Only 4 per cent of investigated complaints dealt with sexual harassment.
