In Committee from the House of Commons
Finance - May 7, 2013
Finance MPs hear from witnesses on two different topics during the meeting. Mark Perlman and Richard Case, two senior officials with the Canada Revenue Agency, first discuss their office's main estimates for 2013-14. The officials are asked in particular about the impact of various departmental cuts. Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant then presents her private member's bill (C-462) to restrict the fees charged by consultants who assist Canadians in applying for the disability tax credit. Gail Beck (Canadian Medical Association), Karen Cohen (Canadian Psychological Association), Carmela Hutchison (who is speaking on behalf of both the Council of Canadians with Disabilities and DisAbled Women's Network of Canada) and Akiva Medjuck (National Benefit Authority) offer their thoughts on the bill.
