In Committee from the House of Commons
Citizenship and Immigration - June 18, 2013
Citizenship and Immigration Committee continues its filibuster over Conservative MP Devinder Shory's citizenship-stripping bill (C-425). Members have been sitting since June 11 in order to debate the government's request for a 30-day extension to study the bill. Opposition members of the committee do not support the Conservatives' effort to include amendments that would revoke the Canadian citizenship from dual nationals if they are convicted for a terrorist act, instead of an act of war against the Canadian Forces as the bill originally stated.
