Committee members hold an emergency meeting to discuss Canada Post's plan to end door-to-door urban mail delivery, increase postage rates and eliminate jobs.

MPS first hear from Canada Post president and CEO Deepak Chopra, who defends the Crown corporation's changes.

The following witnesses also offer their viewpoints: David Stewart-Patterson (Conference Board of Canada); John Anderson (Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives); Denis Lemelin (Canadian Union of Postal Workers); Robert Campbell (Mount Allison University); Bob Brown and Roy Hanes (who are both representing the Council of Canadians with Disabilities); Benjamin Dachis (C.D. Howe Institute); and Daniel Kelly (Canadian Federation of Independent Business).
