In Committee from the House of Commons
Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics - February 25, 2014
Conservative MP Mark Adler briefs the committee on his bill (C-520) that would require agents of Parliament and their staff to disclose any past politically partisan activities. The disclosure period would cover the decade before an agent's appointment. Auditor General Michael Ferguson, Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand and Ethics Commissioner Mary Dawson offer their perspectives on the bill during the second hour of the meeting. Their watchdog positions are among the nine that would be affected by the proposed legislation. (February 25, 2014)
