The committee considers amendments to the Fair Elections Act (C-23) as it begins its clause-by-clause review. The Conservative majority on the committee has set a three-day deadline to go through nearly 300 amendments and redraft the legislation. The committee heard from witnesses including the minister of state for democratic reform, Canada's current and past chief electoral officer, and groups representing the homeless and students over the course of its hearings on the controversial bill.
