In Committee from the House of Commons - Procedure and House Affairs - June 3, 2014

Conservative MP Brad Trost discusses his motion (M-431) to allow all MPs to elect committee chairs at the start of each session through the use of a preferential ballot system. He is followed by fellow Conservative MP Scott Reid, who makes the case for his proposal (M-489) to use a single, preferential ballot to elect the Speaker of the House. His motion also includes a tie-breaking provision. (June 3, 2014)
