The committee studies the state of women’s rights in Afghanistan. Testifying as an individual via videoconference is Staci Haag, an American consultant on democracy and women’s issues. Ms. Haag, who just returned from Afghanistan, discusses the poor state of women’s rights in the Middle-Eastern country, highlights the problems that rural Afghani women face, and speaks on the state of education for young girls.
