In Committee from the House of Commons - Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics - December 4, 2014

Suzanne Legault, the federal information commissioner, discusses the operations of her office. The commissioner raises a flag about the volume of work and the financial situation the office is currently facing. Her office has seen a 30 percent increase in complaints in the last fiscal year, while its budget has decreased by 11 percent. There was just $37,000 left in the budget at the end of last year. She warns that she will need to make cuts to her program unless her budget is increased. (December 4, 2014)
