Justice Minister Peter MacKay and Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney answers questions on the Tougher Penalties for Child Predators Act. Bill C-26 will amend the Criminal Code, the Canada Evidence Act and the Sex Offender Information Registration Act among other Acts. It will also enact the High Risk Child Sex Offender Database Act.
MPs also hear from Justice Canada officials Carole Morency, Nathalie Levman and Matthias Villetorte, RCMP Deputy Commissioner Peter Henschel, RCMP Assistant Commissioner Joe Oliver, and Public Safety officials Kathy Thompson and Angela Connidis. (February 2, 2015)
