Jerome Berthelette (assistant auditor general) and Richard Domingue (principal) from the Office of the Auditor General of Canada discuss the negative impact of the 2008 recession on the automotive industry and the improvements since. Philip Jennings (assistant deputy minister, industry sector) and Charles Vincent (senior director, planning and programming directorate) from the Department of Industry, Richard Botham (assistant deputy minister, economic development and corporate finance branch) of the Department of Finance and Miguel Simard (assistant general counsel, legal services – financing) from Export Development Canada discuss their respective departments’ reactions to the report.
