The committee continues to debate amendments to the assisted dying bill. The clause-by-clause review of Bill C-14 got underway the previous evening. Bill C-14 would create a federal legislative framework to permit medical assistance in dying across Canada. The Supreme Court of Canada has given Parliament until June 6 to pass a new law. (May 10, 2016) UPDATE: Bill C-14 received royal assent on June 17.
